About Me

Writing is not only my trade, it’s my vocation. I am personally dedicated to making all my content, be it for a website or print, the best it can be for the purpose. I want to give my clients content that not only makes them happy, but also brings them business.

I was born in Denver, Colorado and have lived here most of my life. I received my BA in English (with a physics minor) in 1996. I moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 1998 to pursue my PhD at the University of Kansas. I taught freshman and sophomore English at KU while working on my PhD and after. In 2007, I moved back to Denver and began work at Page 1 Solutions, a search engine optimization (SEO) and web marketing company. I remained at Page 1 Solutions for more than five years, honing my skills and learning about how my content intersected with website design and SEO. I worked on clients in several industries, including lawyers, plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, and dentists.

In 2011, I began pursuing freelance work to broaden my experience and pursue different approaches to content that I felt could really make a difference in a website’s success, and in 2012 I formed WriterMC to focus my energy entirely on freelance writing.

In addition to my web writing, I have also published more than a dozen scholarly texts, magazine articles, and edited anthologies.

When I’m not working on writing for clients, I’m working on writing for myself (no kidding), reading, playing strategy games, and spending time with my ever-loving wife, my two kids, and my two cats. With whatever’s left, I work on home improvement projects or tinker with the 1972 Volkswagen Beetle I converted to a fully electric car.
